はじめまして！今回の記事を担当する穴井祐介です。

私の社内の主な担当業務は、マーケティングと事業の国際化に向けた企画立案です。
担当名だけ見ると、どれだけすごい社員なんだと思われる方もいらっしゃると思いますが、完全に名前負けしています(笑)。
担当業務を軸にして、さまざまな仕事にチャレンジする働き方をしたいと考えています！

海外に情報を発信していくことが業務の一部であるため、KATALOG WEBでは、主に英語で記事を書いていきます。

今回は、英語の記事の後に日本語訳を書いています。

それでは、当社が所有する築190年の古民家をご紹介します！

Firstly, I would like to introduce about me and my job.

My main responsibilities are Marketing and Internationalizing of projects.

I know you are surprised to know them. Honestly, they are too much to express my tasks.
However, I would like to challenge a wide range of tasks with my colleagues.

A part of my task is the spread information of RELATION Inc., so I write every blog in English.

Let’s move to the introduction of “Yamanba” which is the name of an old house belonged to RELATION Inc.. Yamanba was surprisingly built about 190 years ago.

 

What’s “Yamanba”?

 Yamanba is renovated by Mr. & Ms. Nakayama who were moved from Sapporo city to Tokushima
prefecture about 10 years ago. They renovated it since they moved to Kamiyama town. No one could live in Yamanba for its condition because it has past a long time since deserted. It has been obviously changed from the previous state.

Everyone can experiense Japanese traditional lifestyle at Yamanba. We use firewood as main power for a stove and a Goemon bath. To light a fire is not easy, but you would get a pleasant feeling if you could light a fire as you imagined. I use firewood not only for the stove but also for the shichirin which is a kind of traditional Japanese cooking tools. I hope you try skewers of chicken grilled with charcoal because its taste is excellent!

 

What is Yamanba named from?

 “Yamanba” is a kind of Japanese traditional creature appeared in fairy tales. They live in the heart of a mountain, and live on human. Though I have lived in Kamiyama town since the beginning of last December, I was really astonished when my boss said that “Let’s go to Yamanba!” at the second day I started to live in Kamiyama lol. It is absolutely unique, isn’t it?

 

The Lively Space for Various Activities

 Although Yamanba is going to be opened as an accommmodation for visitors, it is used for a various kind of activities up to the present date. For instance, the trainees of Kamiyama Regional Development Training School carried out the dyeing workshop, camp, live concert and so on. Some people visited Yamanba as modern architecture, others visited from out of Tokushima prefecture. Yamanba is an interaction place where many people get together. We RELATION inc. hope you expect the new worth created from Yamanba!

山姥とは？

山姥は、北海道札幌市から徳島県神山町に移住されてきた中山さんご夫妻が、10年近くの歳月を掛けて改修した古民家です。
当時は廃屋となっており、人が住める状態ではありませんでしたが、少しずつ手を加えて現在の状態になりました。
当時の写真と現在の様子を見比べるとおもしろいです。

山姥では昔ながらの生活を体験することが出来ます。主なエネルギー源は薪です。
割った薪を小屋で乾燥させ、薪ストーブと五右衛門風呂に使用しています。割った薪をさらに細かくして、杉の枯れ枝と合わせて火の焚き付けに使用しています。
火をおこすのはコツがいりますが、薪の配置を調整して狙い通りに炎が上がった時は快感です！
また、囲炉裏や七輪で炭をおこして調理をすることもできます。七輪で作る焼き鳥の味は格別です！

 

山姥って、あの山姥？

山姥(やまんば)とは、昔話に出てくる妖怪から名付けられています。
山姥は山奥に住み、人を食べると言われています。私は2015年12月から神山に住み始めたのですが、来て2日目に「山姥に行くぞ～」と言われた時は、どこに連れて行かれるのかと心配になりました(笑)。非常にユニークなネーミングですね！

 

変化を続ける古民家

山姥は将来ゲストハウスとして営業予定ですが、その活用方法はゲストハウスに留まりません。
これまでも神山塾生を中心として、染物体験やキャンプ、ライブイベントを開催する舞台となっており、様々な可能性があります。また、建築物として視察に訪れる方もおり、町内外を問わず、多くの人が集まる場所です。
集まった人たちが交流する場所となり、その交流から生まれる新しい価値を育む土壌となる山姥の将来に期待してください！
